Hi there everyone!
So this is my finished spring bunny made from a morning cup of jo’s really cute spring bunny pattern that I won in her giveaway!
This was a really long project for me! Especially the head as at one point, I was working 96 stitches in one row…thats 3 times more than my normal ami!! Haha I had a lot of fun though and I’m really pleased how well she turned out! And she is easily one of the largest ami I have- its a contest between her and my totoro!
I decided to go for a nice light pink colour instead of the ecru colour that Jo went for as I wanted it to look similar to Usa-Chan the bunny that appears in Ouran High school! And the theme was cherry blossoms as when I think about spring, I think about cherry blossoms! So thats why I used light pink, light green and sparkly white yarn though it doesn’t show very well in the photos!
I wanted to give her pink flower buttons but none of my nearby craft hop had any in stock so I went for pastel pink star buttons instead! :D
The flower was super fun to make and its very satisfying to see how it comes together- Jo offers this pattern for free so you should definitely check it out!-and since I had a large sparkly bead that was gathering dust in my sewing box, I stuck it in the middle of the flower and voila! Perfect!
Some blush and my little (well not so little) spring bunny was born!
I had lots of fun making her- thanks again Jo! :)
I also took her shopping one Sunday so I’ll be posting some photos of what Haruhi got up to that day!

Pepe the Baby Bear, Zoey the Spring Bunny, and I couldn’t afford the tickets for Disneyland, so we settled on the next best option: DOWNTOWN DISNEY!!!

Pepe excitedly dashed over to his favorite store, Build-a-Bear! It’s not often that he gets to hang out with deflated animals looking for their white fluffy innards and little red hearts. :P He became a little impatient waiting for Zoey to catch up — she was living up to her nickname (Flop), tripping over herself and flopping on her belly because she was too busy ogling the giant Lego Beast from her favorite movie, Beauty and the Beast.

The moment we stepped into the dressing room, Zoey’s eyes lit up! So many tiny little outfits!!! Zoey has not played dress-up since Chloe (her twin sister) left for Sacramento. Pepe had a bad feeling about this…

“Chloe, come back now!!!” — Pepe
.
Zoey made Pepe try on outfit after outfit, squealing in delight with every new accessory she found. Every time Pepe tried to escape the dressing room, Zoey’s long arms pulled him right back! ”Maybe going to Build-a-Bear was a mistake,” he thought. Just when he started to give up hope, he caught Zoey distracted by the bin of deflated bunnies! As she happily conversed with them about carrots and their hopes of finding new homes, Pepe made a run for it!!! Zoey felt a quick breeze pass behind her and KNEW Pepe got away.
While we looked for Pepe in the surrounding stores, look who we found instead!!! *GASP!* IT’S MICKEY MOUSE!!!!!!!! Zoey’s had a little crush on him for quite some time now. He’s the tall, dark, and handsome type, you know — she doesn’t get to meet many tall animals at A Morning Cup of Jo Creations.

Zoey! Calm down!!! You’re making Mickey feel uncomfortable.

After Zoey finished fangirling over Mickey (well, she didn’t really finish… I had to pry him out of her arms), we left the Disney Store to continue the search for Pepe. We found this little guy wandering around Rainforest Cafe — he seemed mesmerized by the place. ”How do the temple’s torches keep going and going? Where did that waterfall come from — I see no river! Why do I hear birds and rain when neither are in sight?! WHAT IS GOING ON?! THIS IS SO AWESOME!!!!”
Zoey and I decided not to answer Pepe’s questions so that he could revel in Disney magic. As we drove home, he couldn’t stop talking about our trip! Maybe one day he’ll be able to visit the real Disneyland… one day. :)

“Spring Bunny” is the first amigurumi pattern that I’ve ever published!!! This is a huge accomplishment in my crafting life, and I want to thank you all for being so encouraging throughout this entire experience. I’m so happy that I feel like frolicking in circles right now, throwing imaginary confetti and singing my heart out — and that’s an understatement. :P These Spring Bunnies will forever hold a special place in my heart, and I hope that you’ll enjoy crocheting them as much as I did. ♥

On the evening before Chloe had to move away (she’s already been adopted by a lovely family in Sacramento!!!), we spent some time playing in their favorite garden. I decided to take lots of photos, and these turned out to be my favorite! Zoey kept photobombing and jumping on Chloe, laughing and giggling as Chloe tried very hard not to topple over!!! :)
At the end of the day, Zoey and Chloe sat quietly and gazed off into the distance, reflecting on all the great memories they’ve shared. They’re sad that they won’t be moving to the same home together, but there’s no doubt that they’ll find happiness wherever they go. Bon voyage, Chloe! ♥

This past weekend, Zoey and Chloe wanted to spend a nice, relaxing day at the park. Who knew that they’d almost get run over by huge ducks?!?!?!?! My goodness, what a close call!

Meet Chloe (in the pink) and Zoey (in the green), A.K.A. Flip and Flop! Don’t be fooled by their calm, shy appearance in these photos — they earned those nicknames for a reason…
While most bunnies like to hop, Chloe’s favorite form of transportation is flipping! Whether she’s cartwheeling, doing front flips or back flips, Chloe loves to tumble and play wherever she goes. The other animals in our home say she’s one of the most cheerful and energetic bunnies they’ve ever met! There’s no doubt that she brightens up our days.
Chloe’s twin sister, best friend, and tumbling sidekick is Zoey! Although Chloe can tumble like a gymnastics star, Zoey’s tumbling skills are likened to those of a goofy clown with over-sized feet… attempting to run down a hill… that’s covered in lots of slippery mud. You may be able to imagine why she’s known as “Flop.” :) Zoey’s endearing clumsiness and great sense of humor bring laughter into our lives, and the other animals love her to death.
