My life outside of Tumblr — it exists, I promise.

Feb. 1, 2012.

Things are getting crazier! :D The extra part-time job that I’ve picked up will be starting soon (I have training tomorrow!), I’m right in the middle of Girl Scout cookie season and organizing the fundraiser for my troop has been kind of crazy, classes are starting up again very soon, the Etsy shop needs to be worked on, I’m finally squeezing in some classroom volunteering/observing time (a teacher wants me to teach a lesson or be a substitute teacher!  Yay!), I should be doing more research about teaching credential programs and studying for my CSETs, and I don’t even know what else is going on anymore… My life would be over if I didn’t have my planner/calender on me at all times. @___@  Despite having no real free time anymore, I’m honestly loving every minute of it! <3  The time I get to spend working with students makes this all worth it.  

Haha I said that I have a life outside of Tumblr… it’s just not a very social one. :(  

Hopefully in about 7+ years (lol that seems like so far in the future), I’ll be settled into a teaching career having survived the first few years… hopefully I won’t be part of the 30-50% of teachers that quit within the first 5 years due to stress… oh goodness, that scares me to death sometimes.  Must.  Stay.  Optimistic!

The process of “growing up” is simultaneously frightening and fun.  I’m thankful for having close friends who’ve known me since high school and have shared in this roller coaster of an experience for about 8 years (of course, I love my close college friends as well!!!).  It’s becoming more and more difficult to find time to see each other as we work toward establishing our lives as adults, but seeing them feels like returning home after a miserably long trip.  Time and distance doesn’t seem to change our bond at all — those are the friendships that I know I must treasure.  I think I’ll end this post on that cheesy note. :P
